Got a fresh set of (faster) Samsung sd cards and added two new pi’s (type 3). For the nerd fun also got a simple stackable mount.

I wanted to increase the load on my pi containers. Cause my current one(s) where out of resources i needed to scale. Also wanted to checkout the swarm load-balancing. I decided to run the cluster on a separate dedicated switch, to be sure the networks doesn’t get congested.

Create one clean image of raspian, copy to all cards en configure the pi’s. I decided to use 4 pi's one being the swarm master node Install the last version of docker and docker-compose, then start the swarm and register the created nodes.
To be able to distribute your own images across the swarm we need or own (private) registry container. You don’t need this if your not running custom images and only pull docker default images, these are accessible using the default docker repo
